The bilateral social security agreement with Chile started on 1 June 2015.This guide has been updated to include Chile in the list of non-EEA countries that have concluded a reciprocity agreement with the United Kingdom. The list of countries that have concluded a reciprocity agreement with the United Kingdom has been updated. This Administrative Arrangement shall enter into force on the date of entry into force of the Agreement and shall have the same period of validity. For migrants covered by a reciprocal agreement, contributions made under the agreement to the social security authorities of the United Kingdom and the country of origin will be taken into account when determining entitlement to benefits in each country. The agreement sets out detailed rules for different types of benefits and whether an employee receives benefits from the UK or their home country.
